Over exposure to the sun
is dangerous and is one of the primary causes of all cancers - skin cancer. Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world with 2 in 3 people developing some form of skin cancer in their lives. Certainly a child's skin is more fragile than an adult's and research has shown that overexposure to the sun during childhood multiplies the risk of developing skin cancer by four. The good news though is that most skin cancers are preventable with proper care and protection. Because we are parents like you, we take these facts seriously. We want only the very best for our children and decided to look for it in the place where they know most about the dangers of the sun. We went to Australia and decided to import only the very best they have to offer.

have been manufacturers of sun protective clothing in Australia since 1991 and provide one of the most comprehensive ranges of sun protective clothing in the world. They have developed a unique fabric called chloresist which not only provides excellent sun protection, but also resists the denigrating effects caused by chlorine, sun light and washing detergents. With a sun protection factor of UPF50+, which is the highest rating category for sun protection fabrics in accordance with Australian Standards, we are sure that this is the very best in terms of quality and protection for our children and for yours.

Solarsuits make the management of keeping children out of the sun much easier. No soggy wet t-shirts and wriggling children while you try to apply sun block to their bodies. And because you only need apply sun block to their limbs and face, you'll save considerably on the amount of sun screen you would otherwise use. And thanks to the superb comfort and fit of chloresist, there's a comfortable suit for everyone in the family. Chloresist fabric is fast drying so children can leave the water, drip dry in minutes and continue to play in their solarsuits. Chloresist fabric meets the Australian Standard for sun protective textiles AS/NZS4399 and has been tested for Ultraviolet light transmission and rated as UPF50+ by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency.

Q What makes Solarsuits different from other Sun Protective Suits?
A.
Solarsuits are made of a unique chlorine resistant fabric (Chloresist) which resists the damage caused by chlorine, washing detergents and sunlight. This means that your child's suit will keep its shape and colour and thus continue to give the same high level of sun protection.

Q Your suits don't contain Lycra. Will they be stretchy enough to fit?
A.
Chloresist is not only durable but supple too, and will shape and stretch itself to give superb comfort and fit, in and out of the water.

Q. There are so many makes available, how do I know that Solarsuit is the right one for my child?
A.
Solarsuit is the major supplier to Australia's State Cancer Organisations for sun protective swimwear and clothing and has been supplying them for the past 10 years. So not only will your child be getting excellent protection from a top quality suit, but they'll love our wide range of styles, colours and prints

Q. Do I need to use sun cream under my child's suit?
A.
No, there's no need to apply sun cream under the suit. We do strongly recommend though that you apply sun cream to exposed limbs and face. Don't forget the back of the neck too if your child isn't wearing one of our sun protective hats.

Q. How should I care for the Solarsuit?
A.
There are full care instructions on the suits. We suggest you rinse your solarsuit in cold fresh water after it has been worn. Use a mild detergent and hand wash in warm water as necessary. Allow it to dry completely before you put it away.

Q. What does your Guarantee actually mean?
A.
The Solarsuit Guarantee lasts for one year and means that the unique chloresist fabric will not perish and subsequently lose its sun protection factor. Sun Protective Suits that go baggy and fade lose their sun protective qualities. We want you to be completely happy with your purchase so, if for any reason you are dissatisfied, simply return your suit to us for a full refund.

Q. What if I've ordered the wrong size?
A.
Even when using our size chart, we know it can still be difficult to get a good fit without actually trying it on. We know too that children can have unexpected growth bursts, so if your suit doesn't fit when you receive it, simply return it to us with a note saying whether you'd like to try the next size up or down. At Total Eclipse , we are parents like you and our personal experience helps us to take care of your questions and concerns. If you have any other queries that we haven't answered here, just call or e-mail, we're happy to help.
